Massive sploilers for Game of Thrones season 3/ A Storm of Swords
Honestly, the last Samwell chapter in A Feast For Crows was more of a surprise to me than the last Catelyn chapter in A Storm of Swords.
If you were taken *completely* by surprise by the Red Wedding, you just weren't reading closely enough. Sorry.
Yeah the brutality of it was shocking, but you had Dany's vision in the last book, a guy you knew was a traitor showed up, and Frey said "mayhaps." So if you were reading closely (or, hell, were paying the slightest iota of attention to what Roose Bolton was saying in the Jaime chapter earlier)...
Oh and the woods witch Arya meets tells her about an animal who was dead and then resurrected? What was that animal? Might that have been a fish? The sigil of House Tully? Who's the only prominent Tully in the-
Okay I'm done now.
