Who will be dead by the end of A Song of Ice and Fire?

In no particular order, these are the characters I don't see surviving the series.

Barristan Selmy. The dude is Obi-Wan Kenobi. I don't even see him getting back to Westeros alive. Hell, I pegged him for dead by the time A Dance With Dragons ended, because I actually expected a freaking ending.

Jaime Lannister. Jaime will eventually run into someone who refuses to see him as more than the Kingslayer. Maybe Stoneheart, maybe not. George will make us think that the lefty has a chance... and then splat. By the way, Jaime's my favorite character and I consider his redemption arc more or less complete (especially compared to Theon's), but I can easily see his past catching up with him. If he does survive, I'm going to guess that Brienne ends up dying in his place.

Theon. Because a heroic sacrifice is pretty much the only way I'll accept his redemption arc as sincere and complete. Until then, just stand in the corner over there and remember your name.

Stannis Baratheon. Rightful king of Westeros or no, he's not Azor Ahai, that's not Lightbringer, and there is no way in hell he'll just let Dany take the throne.

House Bolton. If Jon survives, they're dead. If the Wall comes down and the Others wreck the North, they're dead. If Dany invades Westeros, they're dead (they fought for Robert, and there are enough Northmen hanging around to blame a lot of things on the Boltons).

Tommen and Myrcella "Baratheon" because destiny says so.

Cersei Lannister will go apesh*t after Tommen dies (kinda like a certain wedding guest did). Before finally throwing herself off a tower, Lady Macbeth-style.

Both Clegane brothers will die on each others' swords. If Sandor takes up arms again. If he doesn't, he'll live, but the Mountain will be dragon-roasted inside that fancy suit of armor, and we'll never get to see what is or isn't behind the helmet.

Doran Martell because every old guy in this series is going to end up a corpse.

Varys, because he's too powerful to not end up dead (and because Bran can probably end up doing his job)

Littlefinger if there is justice in this world.

Most of the Tyrells if for no other reason than they aren't POV characters and they're set to be calling the shots when Dany finally shows up... so they're dragon food.

"Young Griff." Die like the malignant plot tumor you are. Please.

Jon Connington. Kind of a no-brainer, what with the greyscale and all.

Robert Arryn. Seriously. Just fly already. Nobody likes you.

Victarion Greyjoy. While he is, like Selmy, too awesome to live, I still have no idea what he's doing as a POV character. The dragon-binding horn? How the hell is that going to fit into the narrative? George has to start killing superfluous POV characters; here's one to start with.

At least one but no more than two of the following: Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen. Prior to the end of Dance, I kinda assumed Jon was the POV for when the Wall finally comes a-tumbling down, and didn't really see him living past that (for most of Storm I was hoping that honor would fall to Sam instead, but then he got packed off to the Citadel). There's really nobody left in King's Landing to kill Dany, but she still has no idea how to play the game of thrones (because her entire stay in Meereen was a bloody fantastic waste of time), so she could still end up dead.  Tyrion may die for his family's sins when Dany finally crosses paths with him.  (If he dies, then Jaime lives; I don't see George wiping out all the Lannisters, and his brother's death for his sins might be the final message that you can't ever escape your past. Let him live with that on his conscience.)

Ned Stark. They'll never see it coming.

Post-Craig Review: Dr. No

Back to the very beginning. This is a lie. "The beginning" would surely be a review of Ian Fleming's 1953 novel Casino Royale...
